Senior Product Designer
Company Overview
Construction is a trillion dollar industry that still relies heavily on manual, paper-based processes.
The biggest bottleneck is cost estimation. Takeoffs are still largely done by hand — estimators spend days measuring and counting materials from drawings, and errors can be costly.
Bobyard automates construction takeoff with AI, using computer vision and NLP to read drawings faster and more accurately. We're a small team backed by Primary and Pear, and there's a lot of the product still to build.
Position Overview
- Interface is everything at Bobyard. We’re selling the most sophisticated tool our customers will ever touch. Your job: make complexity feel inevitable.
- You’ll work directly within the product team to define how our platform looks, feels, and wins. You will:
- Live in customer workflows: Sit with estimators and PMs. Know their job, their clicks, their frustrations better than they do.
- Shape product vision: Turn user pain into product truth. Decide what we build and why it matters.
- Create, iterate, and validate new products: Own 0 → 1. Prototype fast, test with users, kill what doesn’t work.
- Execute with engineering: No handoffs. You’re in Figma and in the weeds with front-end. You ship.
- Communicate vision with marketing & sales: Make the product story crisp. Give GTM a weapon they can sell.
- Revamp current platform: Raise the bar. We need craft, speed, and taste — not another clunky enterprise tool.
Desired Attributes
- Founder-level drive: You roll up your sleeves. You own outcomes, not just pixels.
- Taste and expertise: Killer portfolio. You’ve done real user research and shipped products people love.
- Learning speed & resourcefulness: No construction experience? You’ll be dangerous in 30 days. You figure it out.
- Passion and work ethic: This isn’t a cushy design job at Google. We’re at war with legacy software. You want that.
- Organized operator: 1000 requests from 100s of customers. You turn chaos into clarity and ship what matters.
- Tools: Figma fluency. You know HTML/CSS. You can talk to engineers and earn their respect.
Benefits
- Competitive salary plus equity options (target $140k - $170k)
- Opportunity to collaborate with a dynamic, driven team
- Build a massive company
This is a full-time & in-person role in SF. We are the most valuable and sophisticated software our customers will ever use. If you are confident in your ability to create new ideas for AI model interfaces intuitive and frictionless, we would love to work with you.
Comp Philosophy
We are proud to offer competitive, top-of-market compensation because we want to celebrate the dedicated people who ship amazing work and drive our success. Our individual compensation is thoughtfully tailored based on your role, experience, and contributions, alongside performance-based rewards.
