Description -----------

Cloud Solution Engineer – Government Defense & Intelligence

Help Shape the Cloud Technology Behind Critical National Security Missions

Oracle Government Defense & Intelligence (GDI) helps customers transform national security with secure, scalable, and resilient cloud technology. The technical decisions our Department of Defense customers make today determine how some of the nation's most critical workloads will be protected, modernized, scaled, and sustained for years to come.

We're looking for an experienced Cloud Solution Engineer to become a trusted technical partner to strategic Department of Defense accounts, with primary alignment to the Department of the Army.

This isn't a role where you'll move from one disconnected opportunity to the next. You'll be account-aligned, developing a deep understanding of your customers' missions, environments, programs, stakeholders, and technology priorities. You'll partner closely with Oracle sales leaders and remain engaged throughout the customer lifecycle—from early discovery and architecture through technical evaluation, award, deployment, adoption, and expansion.

You'll be Oracle's technical presence in the account and an advocate for the customer inside Oracle.

This is a hybrid position that involves  a minimum 3 days a week in-office work and/or meetings at the client site. Candidates must be based in the greater Washington DC area

Responsibilities ----------------

What You'll Do

As a Cloud Solution Engineer, you'll own the technical relationship with your assigned accounts and help customers determine how cloud, data, and emerging technologies can support their mission.

You'll:

What You'll Bring

We're looking for someone who combines strong cloud architecture expertise with the ability to earn credibility and trust in complex customer environments.

Required Qualifications

Experience That Will Help You Stand Out

We're especially interested in candidates who bring experience in one or more of these areas:

Why This Role?

This opportunity offers something different from a traditional technical presales position: depth, ownership, and mission impact.

You'll have the opportunity to become deeply embedded in a select group of strategic accounts rather than simply supporting transactions. You'll learn the customer's mission, understand where their technology environment is headed, and help shape technical decisions over time.

You'll also have the breadth of Oracle behind you—bringing together cloud infrastructure, data, security, AI, engineering expertise, and specialized resources to solve complex customer challenges.

Most importantly, the technology decisions you help influence support organizations responsible for protecting the nation and executing some of its most critical missions.

If you're a cloud technologist who enjoys solving difficult problems, building trusted customer relationships, and connecting technology to meaningful mission outcomes, we'd like to hear from you.

I positioned the hyperscaler requirement prominently enough to attract strong AWS/Azure/GCP candidates while making OCI the preferred—not exclusionary—background. I also removed all IC3/IC4 and leveling references and standardized the experience requirement at 5+ years.
