Overview

Principal Product Manager for Memory in Copilot Chat, owning customer scenarios, end-to-end product experiences, platform requirements, and AI quality/evaluation across a high-impact, cross-company area.

Microsoft Copilot is transforming how people work by helping them reason across information, stay in context, and accomplish more. Copilot Memory is a foundational part of that experience: it enables Copilot Chat to understand durable user context and deliver more personal, proactive, and trustworthy assistance while preserving enterprise-grade controls.

The Copilot Work Memory team is evolving memory from user's work context & history continuity into a governed, evaluable, multi-source capability grounded in user's real communications, documents, meetings and work content. The team is solving hard product and technical problems across memory generation, freshness, retrieval, serving, evaluation, transparency, safety, privacy, latency, and cost.

We are looking for a Principal Product Manager, to lead a large, complex product area for Memory in Copilot Chat. This role requires exceptional technical fluency, end-to-end product judgment, and a proven ability to build and ship AI-powered experiences from the ground up. You will set direction across customer scenarios, product experiences, platform capabilities, and AI quality; translate ambiguous customer and technical problems into a durable strategy and execution plan; and align engineering, applied science, design, research, security, privacy, and partner teams across Microsoft to deliver measurable customer impact. You will also establish and sustain senior cross-organization relationships with teams driving critical parts of Copilot Memory, including Chat Memory.

The ideal candidate combines customer obsession with systems thinking and organizational leadership: someone who can move comfortably from long-term product strategy and user scenarios to quality metrics, experiment design, platform tradeoffs, and executive-level decisions. You will operate with high autonomy, lead through ambiguity across a broad scope, create clarity across organizational boundaries, and establish the product practices and cross-company operating model that allow Copilot Memory to improve safely and rapidly at scale.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more.
